Due to thread painting exclusively for the past six years, I now have arthritis in my hand. I am having surgery at the end of February that will put me out of commission for six months. The surgeon will rebuild the joint at the base of my thumb and also reconstruct the joint above it. Interestingly, I recently realized that I had gathered and moved threads 596 times in five hours. With a new hand, this will be painless for me!
I will be teaching the October 3-7 class. I would love for you to join me then.
Again, I apologize for canceling my other classes, but it is necessary for me to heal and be back in the game soon!
Classes will take place at Jennifer’s studio, located five minutes from the Santa Fe Plaza. All students will meet at 1244 Camino de Cruz Blanca on Monday morning at 9:00. If you do not have a car, please contact Jennifer and she will arrange transportation for you. There will be room in others cars to car pool each day.
There is a minimum of six students and a maximum of thirteen students in each class. Classes will be confirmed two months prior to the class date. In the event of cancellation, a full refund of student deposits will be made. Students are responsible for all costs associated with airfare and hotels. It is recommended that airfare be booked as refundable.
Santa Fe has a regional airport that is serviced by American and United Airlines. All other airlines fly into Albuquerque. Albuquerque is one hour south of Santa Fe. Students should rent a car to travel to Santa Fe, or take the Sandia Shuttle which drops off at the La Fonda hotel and the Inn of the Loretto.
Buying travel insurance is recommended; please click to read reviews and get a quote to compare travel insurance services, which may include trip cancellation, lost baggage, etc. Results range from $40-$100 and up for coverage.
Hotels closest to the Plaza are the La Fonda, Inn of the Loretto, Hilton, Governors Inn. One of my favorites is a vintage motor court, the El Rey on Cerrillos Road, three miles from the studio. Please contact jennifer for hotel suggestions.
